modular architecture

Microservices architecture allows a large application to be separated into smaller, independent objects, with each object having its own function and scope. Simply put, microservices are small, autonomous services when put together form a cohesive larger application.

 

LessCode has been built with this philosophy at its core. Everything is object-based and completely modular. This approach facilitates easier maintenance, development, testing, and deployment compared to a more monolithic architecture.

 

Because each microservice is self-contained and loosely coupled, smaller teams of developers can write and maintain a service independently.

This also makes larger projects more robust, the overall ecosystem will not be brought down if one microservice is in error.

Polyglot programming

Microservices don’t need to share the same technology stack. Teams can choose different languages and libraries for each application.

Communication

Services communicate via well-defined APIs. Internal implementation details are hidden from other services.

Instead of calling services directly, clients interact with the API gateway. It handles cross-cutting concerns like authentication, logging, SSL termination, and load balancing.
